Our Trustees

Anne Frost (Chair of the Board)

Anne began her working life in retail management before becoming an officer in the Royal Air Force serving in the UK and Hong Kong.
She then joined the civil service where her roles included responsibility for transport policy in the West Midlands, running a college for senior fire service personnel, and a range of senior civil servant posts in the Department for Education. Anne retired from the civil service in June 2020 shortly after joining the MET Board. She was elected as Chair from 1 September 2020.

Drew Richardson-Walsh (Deputy Chair & Senior Independent Director)

Prior to working for Peridot, he worked as a senior leader in both colleges and universities being responsible for student services, marketing, alternative (14-16) provision, and safeguarding. 
Drew has been a school governor and charity trustee for over ten years; namely as Vice-Chair of Nottinghamshire Clubs for Young People Ltd, a Governor of John Ferneley College, Governor of Brooksby Melton College and joined the Mowbray Education Trust Board as Vice Chair in 2018.

Linda Arnold

 

Tendai Mutambirwa

Tendai is a graduate in Aerospace Engineering with up to 20 years working experience in aviation and aerospace.
Having worked for iconic organisations such as easyJet, Boeing and Rolls-Royce, he specialises in risk management, auditing, investigation, and crisis management.
A career highlight for Tendai was being named easyJet employee of the year in 2017, which he was recognised for by having his name put on the side of one the easyJet aircraft (aircraft registration: OE-IJA).
Tendai became a Trustee to support his community and help make education the best experience for children, teachers, and staff.

Richard Leighton

Richard is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales with a background in business transformation.
After starting his career in Deloitte's financial due diligence team, Richard has worked for private equity funds investing in companies across a broad range of sectors, supporting management teams to make transformational changes to their organisations. Richard has also been Chief Financial Officer of a national home improvements business where he was responsible for driving through a change in overall strategy centred around customer experience and quality, leading to improved financial and operational performance.

Sarah Atkin

Sarah is a Chartered Accountant and currently serves as the Director of Finance Shared Services for Specsavers, where she leads a large team to deliver finance services to the UK, Ireland, and Netherlands stores. She is passionate about delivering value to organizations by leveraging people, processes, and technology.
Sarah began her accountancy career at EY, where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant and Tax Advisor. She has since held various finance roles at CapitalOne, Severn Trent, and Gala Bingo, gaining extensive experience in financial management and leadership.
As a Trustee, Sarah is committed to supporting the education sector that has provided her own children with exceptional experiences. She aims to help the Trust achieve its strategic vision by ensuring its resources are managed effectively and transparently.

Laura Shepherd

As the Director of Strategic Partnerships and External Relationships at Loughborough College, Laura has responsibility and oversight for Business Development, Marketing and Communications, Student Recruitment, International and Careers and Enterprise. Her previous role was at the Cabinet Office as Head of Commercial.
Her career includes experience in local Government, community and voluntary sector development and consultancy work; supporting employability, skills and education providers to access Government funding.
